On a rock climbing course, you’ll learn the skills you need to pursue rock climbing in a variety of settings. You’ll spend your days learning about moving on rock, belaying, rope handling, building anchors, and more. Depending on your course, you may learn to climb on a variety of rock types, from granite to limestone to sandstone, or focus your skills on one area. Whether you’re new to climbing or a seasoned climber, you’ll find plenty of ways to challenge yourself.

Introduction to Climbing Course New to climbing? We got your back! With our internationally-trained team of avid, passionate climbers, we are devoted to introducing the fundamentals of outdoor rock climbing in this hands-on experience. We'll focus on building the skills you need to continue your climbing journey, including proper belay techniques to keep your fellow climbers protected while they're off the ground. We'll cover necessary knots and give you the chance to practice basic outdoor climbing techniques, with some personalized instruction along the way. Initiative Outdoor will provide all of the necessary climbing equipment for this great first-time experience.

Join our professional instructors to get time on the rock, refine your skills, and continue your growth as a rock climber. Sweeping views and top-quality limestone set amidst lush forests, less than an hour’s drive from Kathmandu, are drawing an increasing number of excellent climbers from all parts of the world. We, at Initiative Outdoor, are proud to be part of the enthusiastic climbing community in Nepal. We support local businesses by utilizing only Nepali food and transport suppliers and have a Nepali team of internationally-trained climbing guides.
